Connecting Viewers to Pipedrive

Automatically sync leads from Viewers to Pipedrive. When someone submits their information through your widget, a new Lead is created in Pipedrive with all their details - ready for your sales team to work.

This integration is available on all plans, including Free.


How It Works

When a lead is captured on your site, Viewers creates a new Lead in Pipedrive with the contact’s name, email, company information, and any enrichment data. Your sales team sees new leads in their Pipedrive inbox without any manual data entry.


What You’ll Need

  • A Pipedrive account
  • Your Pipedrive API Token

Finding Your Pipedrive API Token

  1. Log into your Pipedrive account
  2. Click on your profile picture (top right)
  3. Select Personal preferences
  4. Navigate to the API tab
  5. Copy your Personal API Token

Keep this token private - it grants full access to your Pipedrive data.


Setting Up the Integration

  1. Log in to your Viewers dashboard
  2. Go to Automations
  3. Find Pipedrive and click to configure
  4. Paste your Pipedrive API Token
  5. Select which contact types to sync (see below)
  6. Save your settings

Configuration Options

Contact Types to Sync

Choose which modules should create Leads in Pipedrive:

  • Chat - AI chat conversations
  • Signup - Newsletter signups
  • Coupon - Spin to Win / discount entries
  • Feedback - Feedback submissions
  • Share - Social share submissions
  • Contact - Contact form submissions
  • Custom - Custom module submissions

Select the modules that represent meaningful leads for your sales process. For example, if chat conversations are your highest-intent leads, you might only sync those.


Sync Type

Control which leads get synced to Pipedrive:

All Valid Emails Syncs all contacts with verified email addresses. Use this if you want every lead in Pipedrive regardless of whether they have company data.

Enriched Leads Only Only syncs contacts that have company/contact enrichment data (company name, phone, website, etc.). This filters out personal email addresses and leads without business information.

Use enriched-only if your sales team only wants qualified B2B leads with company context.


What Gets Synced to Pipedrive

When a lead is created in Pipedrive, these fields are mapped:

Enrichment data like company website, employee count, and revenue can provide additional context in the lead notes.


Best Practices

Use “Enriched Leads Only” for cleaner data If your sales team gets frustrated by leads without company information, filter them out at the source. Only qualified leads with business data hit Pipedrive.

Sync high-intent modules only If your sales team gets overwhelmed by leads, narrow it down to Chat and Contact. Newsletter signups can be handled separately through email marketing.

Set up Pipedrive automation rules Use Pipedrive’s workflow automation to assign new Viewers leads to specific team members or move them to the right pipeline stage automatically.

Use Lead labels Create labels in Pipedrive to identify leads that came from Viewers. This helps with reporting and follow-up prioritization.


Troubleshooting

Leads not appearing in Pipedrive?

  • Double-check your API token is correct and complete
  • Make sure the integration is saved and enabled in Viewers
  • Verify the lead type you’re testing is selected in “Contact Types to Sync”
  • Check that your Pipedrive account is active

API token not working?

  • API tokens can be regenerated in Pipedrive - make sure you’re using the current one
  • Some Pipedrive plans may have API restrictions - check your plan details

Duplicate leads being created?

  • Pipedrive has built-in duplicate detection for email addresses
  • Check your Pipedrive duplicate settings under Settings → Manage duplicates

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this create Leads or Contacts/Deals? Leads. Viewers creates new Lead records in Pipedrive. You can convert them to Contacts and Deals through your normal Pipedrive workflow.

Will it update existing Leads? No. Viewers creates new Lead records. Pipedrive’s duplicate management handles matching with existing records.

How quickly do leads sync? Immediately when a lead is captured.

Can I sync to a specific pipeline? Leads in Pipedrive go to your Leads Inbox first. Use Pipedrive’s workflow automation to move them to specific pipelines based on criteria.

Is this available on the Free plan? Yes. The Pipedrive integration is available on all Viewers plans. However, “Enriched Leads Only” sync requires a PRO plan since enrichment is a PRO feature.
