Setting Up the Custom Module

The Custom Module lets you create your own lead capture experience. Define your own labels, instructions, and button text - then redirect visitors to any page after submission. It’s flexible enough to handle use cases the other modules don’t cover.

This module requires a PRO plan.

How It Works

The Custom Module is a blank canvas. You define:

  • What the button says (desktop and mobile)
  • What icon appears on mobile
  • What instructions visitors see
  • What the submit button says
  • Where visitors go after submitting

This flexibility lets you create modules for specific campaigns, custom offers, quote requests, callback forms, or anything else you need.

Configuration Options

Desktop Label

The text displayed on the module button in desktop view.

  • Maximum: 30 characters
  • Example: Request a Free Quote

Keep it clear and action-oriented. This is what visitors click to open the module.

Mobile Label

A shorter label for mobile view where space is limited.

  • Maximum: 12 characters
  • Example: Quote

Mobile screens are small - keep this punchy. It should convey the same idea as your desktop label in fewer words.

Mobile Icon

The icon that appears next to your mobile label. Choose from a large library of icons including:

  • Business icons (briefcase, building, credit card)
  • Communication icons (phone, envelope, chat bubbles)
  • Action icons (download, share, play)
  • Social icons (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Objects (camera, coffee cup, gift box)
  • And many more

Pick an icon that visually represents your module’s purpose. A phone icon for callback requests, a gift box for special offers, a document for quote requests - you get the idea.

Instruction to Visitor

The message visitors see when they click the module. This tells them what they’re signing up for.

  • Maximum: 75 characters
  • Example: Drop us a message and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.

Be clear about what happens next. Set expectations so visitors know what they’re getting.

Button Text

The text on the submission button.

  • Example: Send Message
  • Example: Get My Quote
  • Example: Request Callback

Match the button text to the action. If they’re requesting a quote, say “Get My Quote” not just “Submit.”

Thank You Page

Choose what happens after a successful submission:

Show Thank You Message (default): Displays a generic confirmation message within the widget. Simple and keeps visitors on your page.

Redirect to Custom URL: Sends visitors to any page you specify after submission. Use this for:

  • Custom thank you pages with next steps
  • Upsell or cross-sell pages
  • Calendar booking pages (Calendly, Cal.com)
  • Special offer pages
  • Download pages for lead magnets

If redirecting, enter the full URL including https://.

Example Use Cases

Quote Request:

  • Desktop Label: Get a Free Quote
  • Mobile Label: Quote
  • Mobile Icon: Document or clipboard icon
  • Instruction: Tell us about your project and we'll send a custom quote.
  • Button Text: Request Quote
  • Thank You: Redirect to calendar booking page

Callback Request:

  • Desktop Label: Request a Callback
  • Mobile Label: Call Me
  • Mobile Icon: Phone icon
  • Instruction: Leave your number and we'll call you back within the hour.
  • Button Text: Call Me Back
  • Thank You: Show thank you message

Lead Magnet Download:

  • Desktop Label: Download Free Guide
  • Mobile Label: Download
  • Mobile Icon: Download icon
  • Instruction: Enter your email to get instant access to our free guide.
  • Button Text: Send Me the Guide
  • Thank You: Redirect to PDF download page

Consultation Booking:

  • Desktop Label: Book Free Consultation
  • Mobile Label: Book
  • Mobile Icon: Calendar icon
  • Instruction: Schedule a free 15-minute consultation with our team.
  • Button Text: Book Now
  • Thank You: Redirect to Calendly link

Best Practices

Match your labels to the offer: If you’re offering a free quote, say “Free Quote” - not just “Contact Us.” Specificity converts better.

Keep mobile labels ultra-short: You only have 12 characters. One or two words max. If your desktop label is “Schedule a Free Consultation,” your mobile label might just be “Book.”

Choose meaningful icons: The icon is the first thing mobile users see. Make it obvious what the module does at a glance.

Set clear expectations in your instruction: Tell visitors exactly what they’ll get and when. “We’ll email your quote within 2 hours” beats “We’ll be in touch.”

Use redirects strategically: A custom thank you page lets you continue the conversation - offer a calendar link, suggest next steps, or present a related offer.

Test your redirect URL: Before going live, make sure your redirect URL works and loads correctly on both desktop and mobile.

Pairing with Automations

Custom Module leads flow into your dashboard like any other lead type. Set up automations to:

Send to your CRM: Push custom module leads to HubSpot, Salesforce, or Pipedrive with context about which offer they responded to.

Trigger specific emails: Send different follow-up emails based on the custom module. A quote request gets a quote follow-up; a guide download gets the guide.

Notify your team: Send Slack notifications or Pushover alerts when high-value custom module leads come in.

Fire ad conversions: Track custom module submissions as conversions in Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc.

In your automations, filter by the custom module type to create workflows specific to your Custom Module leads.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I create multiple Custom Modules? You get one Custom Module per widget configuration. If you need different custom modules for different pages, generate separate embed codes with different configurations.

What fields does the Custom Module collect? Email and name, like other modules. The visitor enters their information, and you receive it with any enrichment data (PRO plans).

Can I add custom form fields? Not currently. The Custom Module collects email and name. For more complex forms, consider using a dedicated form builder and connecting it via Zapier.

Is the redirect instant? Yes. After successful submission, visitors are immediately redirected to your specified URL.

What if I leave the redirect URL blank? Visitors see the default thank you message within the widget.

Is this available on the Free plan? No. The Custom Module requires a PRO plan (Lite, Business, or Enterprise).
