How Monthly Credits Work

Credits are the core of your Viewers subscription. This guide explains what credits are, how they’re consumed, and how to make the most of your monthly allocation.


What Are Credits?

Each time Viewers captures a lead on your website, we enrich that lead with valuable business intelligence - phone numbers, company details, coworker emails, and more. Each enriched lead consumes one credit from your monthly allocation.

Your plan determines how many credits you receive each month:

Captured vs. Enriched: What’s the Difference?

Captured leads are email addresses collected through your Viewers widget. Every plan includes unlimited lead capture - we’ll never stop collecting emails for you.

Enriched leads are captured leads that have been enhanced with additional data. When a lead is enriched, Viewers automatically appends:

  • Phone number
  • Business name
  • Company website
  • Employee count
  • Business revenue
  • Business social profiles
  • Coworker emails

Enrichment is what transforms a simple email address into a complete, actionable lead profile. This is where your credits come in.


How Credits Are Consumed

Credits are consumed automatically when a new lead is captured and enriched. Here’s the process:

  1. A visitor submits their email through your Viewers widget
  2. Viewers verifies the email is valid (invalid emails don’t use credits)
  3. Viewers enriches the lead with business data
  4. One credit is deducted from your monthly balance

Credits are NOT consumed when:

  • A lead fails email verification (bot detection, invalid email)
  • A duplicate lead is captured (same email already in your account)
  • You’re on the Free plan (leads are captured but not enriched)

When Credits Reset

Your credits reset to your full monthly allocation on your billing date each month. You can see your reset date on the Billing page under Usage This Month.

For example, if your billing date is the 15th:

  • January 15: Credits reset to full allocation
  • February 15: Credits reset again
  • And so on…

Credits Don’t Roll Over

Unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle. If you have 200 credits remaining when your reset date arrives, those credits are lost - your balance resets to your plan’s full allocation, not your previous balance plus new credits.

This is why it’s important to choose a plan that matches your typical monthly lead volume.


Monitoring Your Credit Usage

To check your remaining credits:

  1. Log in to your Viewers dashboard
  2. Go to Billing
  3. Find the Usage This Month section

Here you’ll see:

  • Remaining Credits: How many enriched leads you can still capture this cycle
  • Reset Date: When your credits will refresh

You can also see credit usage trends in your main dashboard to understand your typical monthly consumption.


What Happens When You Run Out of Credits

When your credits reach zero:

  • Lead capture continues: Viewers keeps collecting email addresses on your website
  • Enrichment pauses: New leads won’t be enriched until your credits reset or you upgrade
  • Existing data stays intact: All your previously enriched leads retain their full data

You won’t lose leads - they’ll just be captured without enrichment until you have credits available again.


Need More Credits?

If you consistently run out of credits before your reset date, you have a few options:

Upgrade your plan Move to a higher tier for more monthly credits. Go to Billing → Change Your Plan to see your options.

Wait for reset Your credits automatically refresh on your billing date.

Contact us for custom pricing If you need more than 10,000 credits per month, contact us for bulk rates tailored to your volume.


Frequently Asked Questions

Do credits carry over if I don’t use them all? No. Unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and do not roll over.

If I upgrade mid-month, do I get more credits immediately? Yes. When you upgrade, your credit allocation increases immediately to match your new plan.

Do invalid or duplicate leads count against my credits? No. Only successfully verified and enriched unique leads consume credits.

Can I buy additional credits without upgrading my plan? Currently, the best way to get more credits is to upgrade to a higher plan tier. For high-volume needs beyond our standard plans, contact us about custom arrangements.

What happens to my enriched data if I downgrade to Free? Your existing enriched lead data remains in your account. However, new leads captured on the Free plan will not be enriched.
